2012 - The Year of Discontent
This IS 'the year of discontent' ... or so it seems! Have you ever seen the like of this kind of angry, violent, polarizing behaviour by mass groups of people EVER before?
I've been trying to get my head around what could be triggering such rage and violence among such disparate groups of people -- especially groups of YOUNG people all over the world! When I consider the so-called 'Arab Spring' in the Arab world ... and the 'Occupy Movement' in various cities throughout the U.S. and Canada, the mass demonstrations in France and Greece that became violent AND the fact that those in authority seem to be helpless to really DO ANYTHING to quell the violence or to appease any of the demonstrators!
Are we at that point in our history where we are "reaping the whirlwind"? You know ... where we have entered the "time of tribulation" before Jesus returns.
I can think of no valid reason why this should be happening simultaneously all over the 'free' world ... OTHER than the fact that the world has gradually become more and more 'GODLESS' ever since the end of World War II. Are we now reaping the result of that Godlessness?
What really stands out for me ... the really ODD thing ... is that the FREE countries of the 'western world', which were founded on peaceful Christian principles, and where laws were based on Christian morality are NOW 'BASTIONS' of IMMORALITY and LAWLESSNESS.
Whereas, countries in the Arab world ... where the Muslim religion, founded on the tenets expressed in the 'Prophet' Mohammed's book, 'The Koran' ... have become places where Imams have ALL the power, and where women live in fear of their own families members ... places where rage and VIOLENT 'demonstrations' (often, AGAINST US) seem to occur every day ... 'IN THE NAME OF GOD'!
... "As the days of Noah were, so shall it be when the Son of Man returns to set up His Kingdom on Earth." ...
If these are NOT 'as the days of Noah were' ... then I fear for our near future! Those of us who believe in JESUS CHRIST, MUST get on our knees NOW ... and pray like we've never prayed before!
P.S. I'll bet that a number of you who may read this will assume that I'm one of those 'holier-than-thou' people. Well, think again. I turned my back on God for 32 years ... and committed my share of 'serious sins'. My only redeeming act was that I 'humbly' returned to God and 'repented' to the best of my ability. Like all of you, I HAVE TO TRUST in Jesus' Saving Grace.
